I'd steer clear of the chicken, it felt like it was a lower quality, and stringy.

Cool little outdoor BBQ joint. It's out near Kings view on the north side of island. It's a good end to a long drive. The little town it's in a nice and has really relax feel. The ox tail soup is delicious and the Lau Lau combo is a good second choice!

Great oxtail soup! Bought it a few times and the flavor is consistent! But they dont give you much ox tail sometimes 3 lucky if you can get 4 pieces! for the price I'd say it's kind of a rip off

Had the spicy chicken. Was very good, but even better with a side of teriyaki sauce. Huge portion sizes, great value.

Stopped here for lunch after hiking the Polulu Trail. Tried three different dishes, all of them delicious! Orange Chicken, Chicken Combo, and Teriyaki Combo.

I had the loco moco. Outstanding. And so much I could only eat 1/2 of it. Good outside seating (no inside seating) walk up to order, take away. Fun little town.

It's ok. Not worth going out of the way for but if you're in the neighborhood and want "Hawaiian BBQ" this place is good enough. Parking is plentiful and free for two hours as long as you dont forget to get it validated. Food is overpriced for what you get but not too badly. They do give you bento to go boxes if your ready to hop on a flight.

It's like Korean BBQ. Very good at a reasonable price.

On Akoni Pule Hwy. Has gotten my order wrong 5 out of the last 6 times. Management has been on vacation however this is inexcusable.

Reminds me of the hole-in-the wall Chinese places on the mainland with mediocre quality but great taste and value. Ordered BBQ combo, which was great. We were all stuffed for a fraction of the cost of many restaurants.

We stopped at this place because the google ratings were so high (4.6) .However, the food was terrible. We ordered garlic fries which were soggy and disgusting (not sure how you mess fries up). For the main, we got the fried fish and bbq chicken and the spicy chicken. The fish seemed stale and was the thinnest piece of fish I’ve ever seen. The chicken seemed dry almost like it was dehydrated astronaut food. We had to stop eating cuz we were worried we would get sick..However, it is extremely cheap so it has that going for it ..

This is the first time we actually have a good food place in our town. Love it!

Dont be mislead by the franchise name. This is not a Hawaiian restaurant. Chinese fastfood with a Hawaiian name. The seafood combo with katsu is just terrible. Very hard deep fried breading with the thinnest slice of cheap chicken. Awful smelling fish. I didnt even bother with the shrimp after getting a whiff of that fish. This Kapaau location was thee worst. Nasty, nasty plate of food.

WOW! I'm just filled with the breakfast combo. 2 slice spam, 4 slices of Portuguese sausage, & 2 slices of ham with 2 over easy eggs over a bed of rice. Mmmmm. Not bad @ around $7.45. Great friendly place. Kohala L&L.

Not sure why the ratings are so high. It was cheap so didn’t feel as bad when I couldn’t eat the chicken. ordered spicy chicken which was a piece of flattened chicken that was chewier than a gummy bear. ExxonMobil would be proud of the amount of oil they used in the fries. But they have lots of food choices for cheap. Who knows. Maybe they have something that’s actually tasty.

We came here because the reviews looked good and someone recommended it as well. The chicken was very poor quality. We ordered spicy chicken and garlic fries. Not sure how a restaurant can mess up fries but these were coated in oil , maybe the garlic idk. Prices were on the lower end.
